MidiStickers Roadmap
Learn more about our plans to improve MidiStickers.
MidiStickers path forward
With the first release of our software, we hope to make a stride in music teaching. Most of the tools we have developed address gaps we ourselves experienced during years of teaching.
However, this is just the beginning! In the next year or two, we have exciting plans for expanding and improving our software. Here are some of the key directions we’re exploring:
Broader instrument support
While our initial focus has been piano-centric, we aim to incorporate more options for fretboard views and string instruments. Adapting some of our advanced harmony tools to these instruments presents unique challenges, but we’re committed to finding solutions to make the software more versatile.
Chord Progressions tools
We plan to introduce more features for intuitively building and analyzing chord progressions, as well as more interactive chord progression trainers integrated with our auto-accompaniment system.
AI Tools
Leveraging specialized neural networks trained on real-world data, we’re working to introduce AI-driven creative and analytical tools. Our first tool will be a Chord Suggester system, to be incorporated in many of MidiSticker’s widgets.
Counterpoint trainer
While we deeply value the species counterpoint pedagogy stemming from books such as Fux’s Gradus ad Parnassum, our intention is bring those dry exercises to life by integrating them with practical keyboard skills and improvisation.
Enhanced visuals
While we feel that visuals shouldn’t be the focus in a teaching software, we still hope to improve the overall quality and range of dynamic visual effects.
Enhanced Auto-Accompanimens
Currently, our auto-accompaniment tools are quite basic. We aim to expand the variety of styles and add more flexibility to better meet the diverse needs of our users.
Mobile and Tablet Versions
To make our software more accessible, we’re exploring ways to adapt some key features for tablet and mobile devices.
Advanced Harmony Tools
We plan to deepen our coverage of contemporary harmony with features such as post-tonal analysis, Tonnetz visualization, Neo-Riemannian transformations, and 12-tone matrices. These tools will empower users to explore advanced harmonic concepts in innovative ways.
We’re incredibly excited about these future developments and look forward to sharing them with you. Your feedback and suggestions are always welcome as we continue to grow and improve our software!
